About a dozen Planter’s Wives stepped away from their children and other responsibilities during Synod to attend an ARP WM sponsored Coffee Hour designed just for them. This was a first time event which resulted from the WM Board recognizing the unique needs of this group of women.

Without a doubt this first Coffee Hour seems to have met the Board’s goal to provide an informal setting in which the Planter’s Wives could support each other. On a crisp mountain morning, these women gathered around tables in Synodical Hall and lifted each other up, openly sharing their experiences and needs with each other.

The event was intentionally informal, enabling these women to move from table-to-table and even rock on the porch in the cool mountain air. All left refreshed, uplifted and at least some hopeful this would become an annual event.
